On the spouse route your UK income has to be above £18,600 or more per year gross (2023). The gross salary required is going up to £38,700 from April 2024.

– Are you self-employed do you need 2 tax years plus period since your last tax return.
– Are you using savings alone or as a mix of salary and savings.
– You will need to submit specified documents for your chosen category.
For salaried income this includes, letter from employer confirming employment, salary level and duration, 6 months worth of pay slips and corresponding bank statements.
English test – exempt country list
If you are from one of the countries below, or hold that nationality you will not be required to take the A1, A2, or B1 English test, however you will still need the Life in the UK test for ILR and Nationality applications. So please check what is required before you apply.
